WHY TREES ARE SO REMARKABLE?
Trees, have always inspired poets, painters, dreamers, botanists and naturalists. It ‘s easy to see why. Trees live longer than us and grow bigger than any other creature. They too, have been witness to centuries of history, war, plague, indifference and brutal neglect. Today, as society becomes more urban, space more limited, we need to protect our trees, plant more trees and we need to realise how important trees are in helping us breathe clean air and how vital they are in protecting our dwindling biodiversity.
LAWS, LETTERS, LORE OF OUR OLD IRISH TREES
The Japanese have long recognised the physical and mental well being of Forest Bathing -among beautiful trees. The sounds of the forest, the scent of pines, the light playing through the trees, bird song, moss covered, old tree stumps. All of these sights and sounds give us a sense of well -being and indeed comfort.
These old trees have stories to tell. Stories of our forebears the Celts. Stories of mystery, folklore, tradition and history. The Chieftain trees as Thomas Gray said “dreaming out their old stories to the wind” . Experience these stories on our Meetings with Remarkable Trees and view our Ogham Stone

- Start 12 Noon for introductory talk tea and coffee
- Watch short film for 16 minutes “Walk and meet Remarkable Trees”

Do I need to book an experience in advance?
Yes, All our experiences need to be booked and paid for in advance.
Do I need to wear any special outdoor clothing?
Please bring boots or walking shoes and a raincoat. In cooler weather wear a warm coat.
Can I bring my dog with me?
We don’t allow pets on our experiences in order to protect wild life.
Are children allowed on your foraging and fungi events?
Yes, we welcome all ages.
Will the event be postponed if the weather is wet?

No you don’t, we will give you lots of great information about foraging, fungi or the remarkable trees depending on which experiernce you are joing us for.
